Chain restaurant with landlocked seafood dishes, 1/2 step above Red Lobster. Save the pallet for when you get home.

Then go to The Fish Market in Birmingham. It's pretty good. Everything is delivered fresh from Mobile.

on a serious note i would suggest trying some bbq at least once while you're in bham. full moon bbq is on 31 in Hoover and is a great place to go with a big group.

they're all somewhat interconnected...the original is downtown, but in a new building, so really not "original". It and the one on 280 are the best, but the one in Hoover is pretty good. Order the whole fried snapper, greek potatoes and fried pickles.

There are several good Mexican places in the area, Iguana Grill on 150 (going the opposite direction of the The Met away from the mall), Habenaro's on 31 in Hoover and Sol Azteca on 31 in Vestavia.

If you're looking for Wings, avoid Baumhowers and Buffalo Wild Wings and go straight to On Tap.

Up The Creek sucks, IMO, as someone else said it's Red Lobster + .001

It's all owned by the same family. The original is downtown. There's one right over in Hoover too that's more convenient, but I think downtown is better.

Do-Di-Yo's in Homewood is amazing.

Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Margarita Grill on 119 is also really quite good. Oh and Agave Grill on 31 in Hoover. It's new. They make the guacamole dip fresh in front of you.

The last time I went here it was disgusting.

Meh. It's OK, but it doesn't live up to the hype.
