After suffering thru the 90's at LSU (thanks LSU Baseball 91, 93, 96, 97) I can't remember a better decade than the 2000's for Louisiana sports...help fill in the gaps if I leave anything out.

2 LSU Football National Championships
2 LSU Baseball National Championships
1 NFL SUPERBOWL Championship Saints
1 LSU Basketball final 4

When you look at other states I am not sure any can brag anymore than that....I'm sure I have left some things out...

I'd have to agree. Good assessment.

And others may not care, but 5 straight final fours in women's basketball is impressive

I agree, BUT how dare you be positive about LSU athletics! Don't you know that the purpose of this site is to blame Les Miles for all of the world's problems, and foolishly hope Nick Saban will return.

It's been a great decade for Louisiana, but look at how Massachusetts enjoyed the decade:

New England Patriots Super Bowl Champions: 2001, 2003, 2004
Boston Red Sox World Series Champs: 2004, 2007
Boston Celtics: 2008 NBA Champs

LSU has also been to a bowl game every year of this decade and is 7-3 in those bowl games since 2000.
When was the last decade that LSU has been to a bowl game every year? I don't think they ever have until the 2000s.

We also went to an Elite 8 in basketball in 2000 and been to 4 CWS this decade. And of course women's track, basketball, and softball have been very successful as well.

Plus the Saints won their first playoff game in 2000 and have a 5-2 playoff record in the 2000s. And the Hornets played some playoff games in the NOArena, almost reaching the Western Conf Finals

It's okay, because it is talking about the past. Therefore, it can be used as fuel for the negative fire about "what we had" and "look at how Miles and Alleva are screwing it up."

C'mon man. You gotta keep up.

I like Boston. Maybe you should go up there and check it out someday. If you can find it.
