Ya, that one was big to me too. After that all war movies well made make me sorta emotional. I guess part of that goes with the fact my grandpa was alive for Private Ryan and had been at D-Day and finished the war with 2 or 3 purple hearts (one of which I have). After those types of movies, I appreciate the fact a few inches here or there and I'm not typing now.

Come and See - I was shaken to the core with its stark look and scene after scene of pure hopelessness and tragedy. The ending haunted me for a good while.

Lilya 4-Ever - Pretty much the same as above. Basically could not even smile for a long time after seeing this one. Best movie I never want to see again.

Almost Famous - I saw this when I was 15 (same age as the protagonist) and I realized how much I felt like related to this goofy kid with limited social skills and this movie help me discover a love for music.

Gladiator - No movie holds more sentimental value to me than this movie. It was the only movie I ever watched with my grandma. She was like a best friend to me. I was in 7th grade at the time. My grandma, mom and me all watched this together one night (and neither my mom or grandma can stand much violence much less gladiator violence) and it just struck a chord with them. I can still see us all sitting in there and her in her chair crying at the end. She died not long after that. I cannot to this day watch this movie without crying like a baby. It's not the greatest movie ever made, and I like a lot of movies better. But this movie changed me and will always be sentimental to me.

Another would be Godfather 1&2. I remember borrowing them from my brother. Watching the first one one day after school. Then being at school the next day and that movie was all I could think about. I raced home and watched the second. I think that was when I was like "wow, there are some really good movies out there other than this fast and the furious crap I'm into right now."

Lonesome Dove and Seven Samurai might be some others.

Blackhawk Down.

We got a free screening with the 1st Ranger Batallion.

It was a part of our unit history and grown arse men left the theatre with tears in their eyes.

and dumb Canada took in tens of thousands of Somalis...ranking only second to Pierre Trudeau's policy of unfettered access to Canada to Jamaicans in the 80's and 90's
