I want to believe but I think otherwise. The spring game scares me. And, the only thing that's changed on offense is Billy Gonzalez. I don't think we beat NC. I think Butch Davis out-coaches him.

TigerFanSince4Ever... Hope you are right. What do you base your optimism on?

More probable than not. We now have a 100% Miles program which defines mediocrity.

Offense can't be worse. Has to improve. So yeah, the product on the field has to be improved this year. The final record will most likely be similar.

The fact that I have nothing to base my opinion on. I cannot say yes or no with any sort of confidence. I am optimistic because of what my user name is. I think we are a good team and can put it together. Why not? You never know year in and year out who's going to be good or who's going to shite the bed.

Guys... take this for what it's worth. I know this is a message board that represents ALL of society. But some of you, IMO, are a little too careless.. whatever with what you say. Maybe the stuff on here just reflects society. But it seems like anyone who offers an opinion that differs with anyone else on here is an idiot, moron.. you choose the word. Since when is it wrong to have a differing opinion? Just saying.

Yes I really think we will improve. Like RogerTheScrubber said, offense can't be worse. Offense was so bad last year, you can only get better.

But, my reason for thinking yes, is that we lost 4 games last year. 2 games by 2 points. Alabama, the NC by 9 and Florida by 10. So any one of those games could have gone different.
Especially AL, Ole Piss, and Penn ST.

We have better all around team, more experienced quaterback, some incoming freshman (ware, gore, etc.), and Wilson and Gonzales.

So my answer is yes, and I"m going to try to keep this one pisitive

Yes we will be better. Here are my reasons:

1. OL is bigger and if the Spring showed anything is they will run block better. Ridley, Ford, Murphy, and possible Ware (if anyone gets injured) will benefit greatly.

2. Better DEs. Pep and Alem were servicable at the position but I see a nice upgrade at the position this year.

3. Shep at a position he can concentrate on.

4. Mistakes in clock management relates to focus in this area and improvement.

5. I'll go ahead and be a optomistic about JJ. Even if he just improves a small amount I think the improved OL helps him and the overall offense.

Worried about the DTs/LB to some degree but I think the depth and talent at DE and in the secondary allows more men in the box to more than make up for this.

Do I think we go 11-1? No but 10-2 is realistic and wouldn't be too disappointed with 9-3. I think the SEC will be tough this year. UF and Bama will be tough, I don't care who they lose. At that dump in LR is never easy and they could be very potent this year. That's 3 games right there that are toss ups. Add in UNC and Auburn, who will be better after a year in that offense, and we have a tough road ahead.

I think from a time management stand point, LSU will do fine. Special teams will be better. The defense will be good against the pass and not very good against the run. The offense will suffer bigtime. New oline and no qb. Teams will stack the box and take away the run. JJ/JL will get exposed against this yr for not being very good qbs.

Reasons for optimism...Shep getting more touches, Michael Ford, bigger and hopefully improved Oline, Secondary can be great, and Josh Jasper.

Reasons for pessimism...still a huge question mark at qb, very little returning production at WR outside of Toliver, and being able to consistently stop the run with being undersized along Dline and weaker at Lber.
