Fishing shut down to Point au Fer

As of last night,fishing along the coast all the way west to Point au Fer was closed.

This sucks. By looking at the map it only appears that they closed a few mile wide strip west of the River. Does anyone know if you can still fish offshore beyond the slick say 15-20 miles off the beach?

I just talked to a buddy of mine. He is at his camp on Grand Isle. He told me that the coast guard just put out the word that there is oil 4 miles from the Isle. That sucks

Looks like they extended the closure further inland today and also closed shrimping in Lake Ponchatrain and Lake Borne.

There was definitely oil in the timbalier 130 blocks saturday, and a light sheen 105 miles SW of Fourchon, kind of surprised us to see it that far west.
