Better competition, much bigger, and a commitment to running the ball.

Because it can't possibly be any worse.

Bigger, stronger, faster = better run blocking

I'm not saying the pass protection will be better, but how could it be worse.

3 new starters in hurst, lonergan, & Blackwell. The nice OL recruiting class from a couple of years ago is a year older providing competition/depth. My biggest concern is barksdale at LT. Addition of wilkerson to the staff.

size and the fact that we ran the ball very well during the spring.

You have to take spring for what it is but the OL was easily the most underreported positive to come out of the practices.

We had DTs and a MLB...just not Nevis and Shepherd. We are talking about reasons for improvement...not evidence of the best OL of all time. At no point last year against any of our competition did we look as good. Plus Spring practice is more than just the spring game.

FIFY

I'm not saying we won't be better up front... just that this needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

The group has matured and the younger talent is being given a chance. Staff has placed much more emphasis on technique as well as off season conditioning. Ben Wilkerson is now doing Stud's job for him.

They have let the kids know the sense of urgency and the heat is on.

Besides, as poorly as they played last season, there is nothing but upside now.
