How Dangerous is Fire Possibility at site of Blow Out Now?

With all that oil out there is there any concern that a spark could ignite all the oil on the water and all the boats out there catch on fire and explode? Has there ever been this much concentration of oil in one place on the water. The fumes must be overwhelming out there. Do the worker have to wear oxygen masks while working? Of course fire is always a concern at a blow out but what about just being out there on the water and it catching fire?

What kind of temperature is needed to ignite crude oil?

I would imagine that plenty of those shrimpers who will be out there trying to contain the oil are not smart enough to know that they shouldn't be smoking around the fumes. If the oil can ignite b/c someone is smoking, I'm sure we'll find out.

Crude is not the issue it is the natural gas that is the cause of the explosion. The formation had both oil and NG.
