why is it hush hush as to what officials think as to what happened.....there are too many checks and balances that are constantly checked to insure this doesnt happen....this never happens in fact....
here is the rumor....there is a rumor floating in oilfield circles that the rig was set with explosives and was blown on purpose and triggered the demise of the rig. why do you think obama is sending swat teams to inspect the other rigs....
again this has been words speculated not by me but others.....how crazy is this

For the 8000 fcking time, the SWAT team was not sent to the gulf. Read a little, learn a little. It was industry experts from the government, not the police people with pretty guns and clothes.
Also, the companies are not going to discuss causes at all as this will all be hashed out later by lawyers fighting over the billions of dollars.
You can hear the interview by the guy on the rig and read other stories and it is quite evident they took a kick from a huge amount of pressure that they weren't expecting.

This is exactly like in Katrina when everyone was saying "someone bombed the levies". This thing was not blown up.

What would Glen Beck say (to build ratings)?

Rumors are rumors, and timing is everything. What I find interesting is that OB had just announced more leases for exploration/production would be allowed in the Gulf. This is not a popular move in Florida beach-land which depends on pristine white-sand beaches and gorgeous sunsets for much of its tourist-weighted income.
That an explosion of this magnitude would occur at this time, with the accompanying spill, seems almost a thing out of a Clancy novel.
Conspiracy or coincidence, I'll bet there will soon be a bunch of "thriller" novels or made-for-tv stories that follow this story line, or a similar one based in other, more land-locked sands where there are more camels than tourists.

Geezus people it wasnt a conspiracy.

I said rumors are rumors, and timing is everything -- and it is interesting to consider the background noise (like Obama's not universally popular approval of new oil exploration in the Gulf of Mexico and given some hostile interests in the Middle East) that this timing could lead to something unexpected. And then I said with some literary effort, it could become a Clancy-like thriller or a tv movie thing.
it wasnt a conspiracy.
I just find the timing interesting. I am not ruling conspiracy in or out. Simply noting the interesting timing...

What does this have to do with timing?
Jeez, rigs are working 24/7 in the Gulf and around the world. It was an incident that happened, nothing about timing. Rigs take kicks from time to time. There is a procedure for containing and managing them. This one was a big kick that wasent expected. (since everything was tested) It was a huge kick compaired to the light weight of the seawater in the risers. It got out of control really quickly. If you dont know much about the Oil and Gas industry it will be hard for you to grasp how quickly things can happen with a gas bubble rising up the pipe and expanding constantly.
