At this point, why the heck not! I say let Matty swing a bat and play leftfield also.

What do you need to change your mind? A closer is no good if your starters give up 7 runs.

PM has GOT to do something to stop the bleeding.

If UF manages to pull off a sweep, this losing streak could potentially reach 8 games, with an SLU team that's not gonna lay down for LSU coming in to the Box Tuesday night.

I think he'll pitch well.

But, he's not going to go 9. So, somewhere in the 6th or 7th, we better have some guys who can come in and pitch well.

...and vice versa.

That doesn't mean he shouldn't make the move, but we can't get where we need to get without our other pitchers stepping up.

This is true. At least we'll be in the game in the 6th or 7th though!

Also true, but we have no choice IMO.

I figured after Ole Miss swept that Coach PM would start Ott soon. I didn't want to mention it on here because I'd have been roundly attacked if I had done so.

this. Ott can go 6-8 innings, and Rittiner/Bertuccini can finish it off

I say let Ott start and go 6 or 7 innings and if we have a lead at that point, let Ott finish the game.....

ETA: Yeah, you read that right....

That's why I agree that now is the time for Matty to start- no one has 'stepped up' this year like we all hoped...

Stop procastinating and give Ott the ball. We have nothing to lose.

I'm for it. If we're ahead in the 7th or 8th inning, great.

We have to get the lead, though.......
