A short clip I put together of three great LSU running backs from 1958 - 1962, Billy Cannon, Johnny Robinson and Jerry Stovall

Stovall was robbed in th '62 Heisman. Too close to Cannon's is what I've always thought. The thing about those three is how GREAT they were on D as Tigers. Robinson and Stovall were All-Pro in the AFL/NFL. Cannon could have played D as well. Thanks for the clip.

Terry Baker beat him out and never panned out in the pros. From Wikipedia: He is considered the first of many Heisman trophy busts in the NFL

Very cool!
Why not 1957 - 1962 though?
Including just one more year would let us see Taylor, one of only 3 NFL HoF'ers from LSU (along with Tittle & Van Buren).

Unfortunately, my source material doesn't have any action footage of Jimmy Taylor. I saw him play a couple of times in 57 - he was as punishing a runner as I've seen.

Thanks for posting these!

Understandable. There probably weren't a whole lot of people excited about LSU football in 1957. It would be an awesome find if anyone ever dug some college footage of him.

nice, that was the clearest picture of the cannon punt return I've seen

What ever happened to Johnny Robinson? He coached at NLU in '70s with JD Crow.
