I am working in Shreveport for the next 4 weeks and trying to find out where all the cool people hang out and have a cold one. Dont want a young college hangout.

These are my favorites
The Cub - corner of Youree and Kings - more of an older, former frat crowd, but always a good time
Noble Savage - downtown on Texas across from the Chase building - can be more a hipster crowd, good live music, with good food and beer selection.

Noble Savage is a good one (also has the best food of any bar in town, some of it's way more upscale than you'd expect in a bar). If you're looking for more upscale try Superior steakhouse or 2Johns in Bossier.
If you're looking for a club atmosphere Celebrity Lounge in the El Dorado casino.
For a place to watch sports, O'Briens on the Boardwalk.

Fat Cat's is over in the same area as the Cub and it's a pretty cool LSU bar. They serve some food as well, but I think it's only on certain days.

You really don't have to worry about that in Shreveport. All LSUS students are in their 40's and Centenary has about 800 students total.
