I thought it was pretty awesome. It wasnt as weird/trippy as I thought it was gonna be.

I saw it for the first time this year, as well, and I had the same opinion. It is probably like TMyth said, we are just desensitized to the violence. And the movie had a well defined plot and point, where as, I thought it was going to be plain ole horrorshow.... you know some of the old ultraviolence.
