Most important thing for me initially is the chips and salsa. If the salsa sux I'm out

Why? Most places that I've ever been to that bill themselves as "authentic" are Tex-Mex places with mediocre food. Other places that are actually authentic don't have good chips and salsa typically but the food is great.

What about El Limon and La Tiendita in Baton Rouge? Totally not Tex-Mex, but both authentic Mexican food.
