damn, why cant they just each get a half in a game, the one who performs better gets to start the next game...if they havent moved the ball in 3-4 drives, put in the other guy during their half...not that friggen hard...

does your DISLIKE for JL make you defend JJ this much, or do really just believe he's a good qb?

Thanks to the OP for doing the research and posting this. Very eye opening.

By almost every unbiased standard, Lee is better than Jefferson, with the exception of the pick 6 problems. But I'd give up a pick 6 if it meant the offense could be aggressive moving down the field and preventing the opposing D from stacking the box due to no downfield threat, as opposed to an offense fully incapable of moving the ball, throwing deep (when not holding the ball for ten seconds and taking a sack), and facing eight and nine man fronts all game. If it's pick your poison (and it is), Lee is my choice.

(And for the record, neither of them are good QBs. Lee just seems to be the better of the two.)

I say you email these stats to football@lsu.edu. I doubt Crowton and Miles have run the numbers.

I want to see one statistic that shows Jordan is better.

How about:

Better TD to Int ratio - JJ: 21 TD to 8 Int JL: 16 TD to 17 Int

0% Int returned for TDs - JJ: 0 JL: 7

Better Won/Loss record - JJ: 10/5 JL: 5/4

Better career QB eff. rating - JJ: 132.4 JL: 113.8

Better rushing stats - JJ: 305/2TD JL: -120/0TD

All individual stats. The OP was showing how each moved the team. JLee has by far, the better production.

I thought JJ threw a touchdown to TT before halftime against Ole Miss in '08

I didnt give either one credit for that series. Lee played all of it, before throwing the 19 yd completion that he got hurt on, and put the ball at the Ole Miss 37. JJ then came on and got the TD.

So won/loss record, td/int ratio, etc. does not count?

stats only count if you can twist them in lee's favor

don't you get it?

RobbBobb seems to think that Lee and Jefferson are the only ones out on the field when they're playing--forget the other 10 guys.

Like Fore said the other day, anybody vehemently defending either one of these guys over the other is a fricking retard. And this horrible fricking thread is full of fricking retards.

It's all that counts really. You don't want a QB that will lose you games.

BTW, I want to throw my vote in to have Lee at QB when we play y'all this season.

agreed

I think people have my views all wrong on this.

I never once said that Jefferson was an all star qb. But he's not terrible either and won't lose you games.

Lee on the other hand is who the rest of the SEC wants to start. Think about that.

It's all about moving the chains and scoring. JJ struggles to move the chains passing the ball and relegates LSU to being upside down on offensive plays run in a game, his trend is obvious. He either needs to step up his recognition of acceptable spots to put the ball when anticipating a receiver coming open or go find the bench. Ah, I forgot, JJ has no recognition of this important facet of the game.

I don't care who starts, just that the QB is legitimately productive, moves the offense consistently, and produces TD's---this is not to be confused with holding the ball for 8-seconds b/c one can't read a defense or is scared to throw the ball where a receiver can catch it. Still have a really bad taste in my mouth from that abortion of a psuedo-offense that was LSU in 2009.

Again td/int ratio is an ind stat. JJ doesnt throw many ints cuz he wont throw the ball, rather take a sack. Wanna throw up the sack numbers?

won/loss is a function of competition. JLee only lost 3 games in which he played the whole game. Each was to a #1 ranked team. JJ lost two games to unranked teams, and also got a couple wins where spec. teams and defense scored the difference.

I'm starting to sense that this is becoming the mindset of most realistic fans. If Lee had the help that JJ had, we would have had a much record in 2009.
