So why does LSU have much less show up for the Spring Game?

Not flaming. Why do you all think so few show up compared to other large schools (UT, Texas, Bama, OSU, PSU, UF, etc)?

I am not going to buy that there is so much otherstuff going on in BR that time of year. BRLA does not hold a monopoly on spring activities, especially in the southeastern states. And there really is not all that much in BRLA.

Go!

It's actually a few things....

1)Tailgating isn't involved as much
2)Spring is actually a busy time in BR w/ festivals, baseball and such.
3)It's practice

I didnt go because I was in NOLA getting insanely hammered while on a hunt for Easter kegs. That trumps practice IMO

No, it's relevant. USC, like LSU, is a successful football program. You compared us to Bama, Penn State and Texas. Their fanbases are arguably more insane (Bama) or larger (PSU; Texas) than ours. To see whether these are trends, we should look at other big time programs and their spring attendance. USC is a good one. I'd also ask about Oregon in the Pac-10. How about Oklahoma, Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, etc.

I think 90,000 Gumps attending the Spring Game is the outlier. Not LSU.

But our fanbase does suck really bad right now.

maybe its because Alabama has more poor white trash in their fanbase and their only opportunity to set foot in the stadium is for the spring game.

It is practice for other schools as well.

I think #1 is a good point

My response that games count for other schools was a sarcastic reponse to someone saying turnout is lower because it is "practice" (it is for every school). I can imagine it is quite borning for any school.
