Here is why lee throws pick 6s... Lsu coaches cant coach worth a damn!!! Les miles is a straight up idiot and calls plays that our qbs cant make... The best coaches use use a players strengths... For instance, we got montgomery and mingo who could be sack masters, both wont start this year because miles wants bigger linemen! Speed rushes create turnovers! Jefferson cant read a defense and lee hesitates on out routes! Lee has a strong arm and jefferson is either lazy or stupid... Id go with lee

No I looked at the lack of thought put in your posts. The newb comment was just a little friendly jab. I was merely informing you of the foolishness in taking what the majority of people here think as fact. Quit taking everything so personally. None of us really know what we are talking about but the ones who say jj has no ability and hasn't progressed at any point are really without a clue

if Mingo "starts" he won't have the opportunity to sack the QB, because the other team will just run right over him for 8 yards a play. He will be a good situational player this year.

The worst one was against Troy St. in the first half. It was hard to believe. Everyone in the whole stadium saw him staring down that receiver from inside our own red zone. And then he threw it. It was like watching a bad movie again.
False, the worst one was watching the very first play from scrimmage of the UGA game be picked off and taken to the house in what may have been the most important game of that year. One of the worst throws I have ever seen a QB make. Snap, Stare at WR on slant, Throw into double coverage, pick 6 to start game.

I think it has to do with his nerves. At times he throws way over the receivers head on a simple dump off pass. I know he could make this type throw 99 out of 100 times in practice but in the game its way off. The pick 6's may have to do with him being more nervous inside his 30 then past mid field. Just trying to figure it out myself. If we could get him to have a f everyone chip on his shoulder he may be able to get past the nerves problem.
I would love to see this young man be great.

there is some insight here that Crowton and Miles should probably realize...in JJ's games in 08, the offense was slimmed down to what he could run best, and he did fine. Last year they kept insisting on trying to run all 6,128 plays in the Crowton playbook. Either QB would be fine if Crowton would realize what will never be effective and quit trying to run it.

if they have a good OL and ruhing game this year Jefferson will thrive in a more pro style play action offense.

If LSU had a coaching staff that was effective at teaching these two QB's how to read a defense, LSU would be set at QB, most likely better off than most teams.

But this is not the case, and from reports it appears nothing has changed. THe problem is reading defenses for both QB's. One has problems picking up coverage and throws anyway ....with negative results and the other has problems picking up coverage, scrambles around until sacked or throws the ball 5 yards when LSU needs 10. In any case, the problem for both QB's is exactly the same.

I remember watching that from the student section. Everyone knew exactly what was going on when Quinn MF'ing Johnson was split wide.

OR
The wide receiver running the wrong route....ie not reading the defense in Crowton's offense.

As far as JJ, the defense just needs to cover the primary receiver and keep JJ in the pocket backing up.

Either way, both QBs better improve before the fall or we are in for a long season.

im trying to remember all of the 2008 pick 's. forgive me if i am inaccurate. #1-2nd qtr at auburn. gabe mackenzie grabs a lateral pass with one hand and returns it right before half. a great pick but also i think lee took it for granted the route was open. didnt quite look it off. was thrown into the fire after hatch slobbered out his mouthpiece. draw? florida-brandon spikes steps in front. lee didnt look him off- on lee. 1st play against uga-d. gamble steps in front, goes untouched. cant remember if wr tried to make a play. 2nd-d. gamble returns it a hell of a long way w/shite tackling. bama-one returned and fumbled for touchback. bobbled up into the air by d. byrd. r. johnson returns other in middle of field and avoids every player 17 times. against tulane, wr slips leaving db alone to pick. some of this stepping on his dick. some of it coachable mistakes. he still had one hell of a frosh campaign while not playing a full season. if we needed to drive the field, i like his ability if coached up. p.s.-that winning td against auburn to lafell will always be one hell of a pass. may the best guy play.

I would have to agree that there is just bad fortune involved in his picks becoming touchdowns...it just seems a little too easy to sit back and say that his interceptions are worse than anybody else's. That's almost childish...
