Made some comments on the practices he had seen so far...although limited.

some of what he said...

- in his 20+ years, he's never seen an LSU team practice with this much intensity. They're pretty much going all out.

- Loston is an animal...meaner than Landry and faster than Chad Jones.

- More blitzing.

- RS was in on almost every offensive play and always makes the first guy miss.

- You can definitely tell that Gonzo has come in and made an immediate impact on the offense.

- just overall the team looks more intense, pissed off, and ready to go.

I just hope we dont suffer any major injuries due to the increase in the intensity level at practice but i like the overall mentality.

this. I wonder sometimes if these guys know the difference in injured and hurt. But Im not the one takin licks from SEC ballas, So its not for me to say. I certainly cant do what these guys can. I think the intesity will only help, especially the younger guys. Start them off right.

That alone gets me excited for this season

Im not sure what his weight is at, but if he can put on 10 more pounds of lean muscle this summer (not losing any quickness or speed), hes going to be an absolute animal on the field

I also listened this am. Bill King has some good stuff sometimes. He also said:

1) RSheppard was always in the slot and exclusively a WR. Had some trouble hanging on early but has improved.
2) Best 3 WR potential (ie most highly recruited 3 wr's anywhere) in college football
3) JJ looks OK, not great, but OK.
4) Randle and C Tolliver were the best WR's to date
5) OL still a ?

All this from a LSU homer - but seemed objective.

Update: Also said some words about being thin at RB, as if nothing impressed him so far.

None of this matters if this:

quote:

OL still a ?

doesn't get fixed.

I thought he said the o-line looked improved? I was in the middle of something while i was listening so i may have misunderstood or he may have been talking about the d-line.

in all honesty, JJ would have to complete 100% of his passes at an average of 25 yards a pop to impress some people.

Will only matter if:

We can get at least OK play out of the QB position

You CAN'T have one without the other. It's near impossible.

Personally, I think sometimes you just have to throw another ingredient in the recipe and stir it up and see what happens. In experimentation, there is discovery.

touche'. I agree. Hopefully nothin serious or season ending. I think bumps and bruises are good for em. I want them to know in a physical game, they can get down and dirty with anyone
