Says per tigerbait that we are in his top 5. Was just wondering if anyone on here thought we had a good shot at landing him or if we just try and stick with guys from louisiana for wide receiver this year?

I think chances are very good if we press for him. The better question is, do we want him?

We have Landry and Lewis.

We'll get Sylvie.

Then what? The Brassell kid at South Panola is speaking very highly of us, Nigel King wanted to commit but we told him to wait and it looks like he may have moved on. Now Metoyer.

WR is not going to be a problem for us in the 2011 class, I don't think.

Less than 10% in my view, unless one of our in-state guys chooses elsewhere. I don't see LSU signing 4 or more WRs in this class.

I think that's another reason Nigel King has dropped us. LSU is going to slow-play every oos WR and/or RB unless he's the top 1-5 players at his position in the country.

He was born and raised in Texas. His dad is from LA (went to lsu) and mom from Texas. We will probably not get him though.

When did Nigel King "drop" us?

He "dropped" us just cause we wouldn't accept his super-early commitment??

Probably..

Hey if we just get Landry, Lewis and Sylve, i'll be ecstatic. Landry will be a five star before it's all said and done. Dude's money with the ball in his hands.

He wasn't real forthcoming on why we were no longer listed amongst his favorites but he gave the impression that he hasn't heard from LSU, which jives with my view that we will slow play almost all oos WRs and RBs.

Probably pretty low.

He is reported to be making his decision this Friday at noon. Looks to be between OU and Ole Miss.

Just said in a Scout OU Insider interview that he would be visiting LSU on the 20th or the 27th(Spring Game/Junior Day)

That was a few days ago. See smoaky.com. David Smoaky is talking directly to the Metoyers.

Tifwiw but i've been told many times by the same people that if we want Metoyer he's ours. The question is and always has been do we really want him?The same people tell me that it doesn't look like we are really trying to get him.I believe that he's a lot lower on our list than some others.I'm not a guy huge on sources and am generally am very cautious about saying a kid is ours if their from OOS but these people are very close to the inner workings of Metoyer and they have said repeatedly that if LSU takes a commiment from him then he's ours.FWIW the same people have thought that he was OU bound but Ole Miss put a new wrinkle in the situation.

I can agree with this.

We think that he says, "Boomer Sooner" Friday. However, I've thought that LSU is the biggest threat to us; now and in the future.
