this isnt fricking mock trial man, we are talking baseball. Sports.
I dont have to prove anything to you. Ask any coach or anyone who follows sports, especially one like baseball where you play a large amount of games, what they think of the matter and they will ALL agree with me.
if LSU wanted to take BP for a whole weekend, they should just go out and let Beerbolm throw them BP because that's basically what it is playing William and Mary and Brown.
this isnt something you see in stats.
You see it when its crunch time, and Austin Nola or Tyler Hanover is at the plate late in the game against a good pitcher in a tight situation, and he's going to wish he had faced better live pitching when it essentially "didnt matter". Not the little 5'9" twirp that picked between Centenary and Loyola NOLA and can barely touch 80 MPH.

Whoa,
I don't comment very much but please remember that its March. Lamabe, Bertman, and Mainieri all have used March to test their teams - its a hallark of semi-competant coaching - Smoke excluded. I actually enjoy seeing how they are willing to test ideas and to see players who will "step up later". Please, this ain't football. Do you really believe after all of these years of national championship baseball that out of conference schedule matters in MARCH?
