Bench press is the most over rated lift out there. It does nothing for you but screw up your shoulders, etc. 'Athletes' should be more focused on their natural motion using dumbells, etc. Most NFL players get totally away from any barbell type lifts. It's more of an 'ego' lift than anything.

If you were top 5 in the state in 5A why are you not playing ball somewhere now?

And I benched 290 in my senior year and I only weighed 195 pounds.
