Edit: OK looks like there's some confirmation it's Ensminger.

I guess I'll shut up now. He's a Tiger. Good luck to him and hope this works out

guranteed Ensminger as our TE coach is no worse than Miles as our head coach.

I'm glab we are hiring high school QB coaches now. According to Auburn fans, he doesn't recruit well. So what does he bring to the table, besides a waste of money?

FWIW,
he coached at Central and West Monroe b/c he wanted to coach his son. Its so funny how people who know nothing about football will sit here and say if its a good hire or not. How the frick do you know? You make 60k a year as a sales rep. He makes 250k a year as a TE coach. He must be doing something right. Coaches change jobs all the time. Know your facts before you post shite.

he bleeds purple and gold man!!!

I agree with books the list of people we interviewed was pretty shitty. But if Miles insists on having a coach for this position he could at least bring in an ace recruiter. frick

You bring a guy to the table who has Louisiana roots and ALOT of connections in local instate football. We have come to realize after Saban's tenure here that if you recruit just instate talent and keep them in state we can do pretty damn well. Get all of the great players in state and a few from out of state and you have a great recruiting class.

I cannot say if Esminger will do a good job at lsu or a bad job at lsu. Time will tell. He may be the worst TE coach ever or he may end up being a great hirer. I know he has OC experience in the SEC, QB coach experience, and TE coach experience.

I know Steve Esminger on a personal level and I can tell you this. If I was a top notch recruit and this man came into my house to try and get me to attend the school in which he coached for, it would definately help my chances of attending that school. Maybe I am a little biased b/c I know him on a personal level and outside of coaching.

IMO, his hiring as the TE coach at LSU will not hurt at all.

p.s. im not trying to get into an aguring match or anything. This is just my opinion and everyone has their own opinion. Just like I think Les Miles is a moron.Just my opinion.

no one is saying it will hurt us, the hire doesn't really help us either

LSU is far from hurting as far as recruiting LA goes w/ Frank Wilson. This could have been a great recruiter w/ strong TX/FL ties, or a great QB coach. Best case a combination of the two. It's none of the above. Agree ab Miles.

I don't understand either side of the spectrum on this one.

I think it's dumb people think it's an awful hire.
I also think it's dumb if people think it's a great hire.

It's a safe hire, is what it is.
