so why was he coaching QB's last season at the high school level, its because he got fired. Did anyone else offer him a job last year?

When Tuberville was let go so was his entire staff. They cleaned house at Auburn.
He still lived in the Auburn area and was helping coach at the local high school.
Tubervilles entire staff was just waiting for Tuberville to be hired somewbere else. Rumor was Tuberville was going to Miami after this year. Randy Shannon ended up having a good year and that didnt pan out. Tuberville got the job at Texas Tech. Im not sure if part of the hiring at Texas Tech didnt include him not being able to clean house and bring in all his old coaches.

I don't understand either side of the spectrum on this one.

I think it's dumb people think it's an awful hire.
I also think it's dumb if people think it's a great hire.

It's a safe hire, is what it is.

well put

no one is saying it will hurt us, the hire doesn't really help us either

Kinda like the hire as Miles as head coach?
I see where you going with this
You bring a guy to the table who has Louisiana roots and ALOT of connections in local instate football. We have come to realize after Saban's tenure here that if you recruit just instate talent and keep them in state we can do pretty damn well. Get all of the great players in state and a few from out of state and you have a great recruiting class.

I cannot say if Esminger will do a good job at lsu or a bad job at lsu. Time will tell. He may be the worst TE coach ever or he may end up being a great hirer. I know he has OC experience in the SEC, QB coach experience, and TE coach experience.

I know Steve Esminger on a personal level and I can tell you this. If I was a top notch recruit and this man came into my house to try and get me to attend the school in which he coached for, it would definately help my chances of attending that school. Maybe I am a little biased b/c I know him on a personal level and outside of coaching.

IMO, his hiring as the TE coach at LSU will not hurt at all.

p.s. im not trying to get into an aguring match or anything. This is just my opinion and everyone has their own opinion. Just like I think Les Miles is a moron.Just my opinion.

FWIW,
he coached at Central and West Monroe b/c he wanted to coach his son. Its so funny how people who know nothing about football will sit here and say if its a good hire or not. How the frick do you know? You make 60k a year as a sales rep. He makes 250k a year as a TE coach. He must be doing something right. Coaches change jobs all the time. Know your facts before you post shite.
guranteed Ensminger as our TE coach is no worse than Miles as our head coach.
He was no where last year. He and Tuberville were really tight and he was suppose to go with Tuberville wherever he went. Alot of the Auburn Tuberville staff was still together and all just waiting for Tubby to get hired somewhere. I guess with him being hired at TT he couldnt clean house there and bring his entire staff with him. Maybe TT(Texas Tech) made that clear when they hired him? Not really sure.

Just realized TT stood for Texas Tech and Tommy Tuberville. LOL
