Good BBQ in BR?

Im a freshman at LSU from texas and am looking for some good BBQ in Baton Rouge. I love the cajun food and everything but im looking for some good old fashioned BBQ like back home. Any suggestions?

1. Do a search on this. There is a long thread from last week that might have some good ideas.

2. Abandon that horrible notion that Texas has good BBQ. BBQ is pork!

+1, Sonny's doesn't get enough love on this board, but they make some good bbq.

I grew up in Texas, and I'm tellin' ya. Come over this way and have some good pork BBQ and you will become a convert.

couyon's in port allen is far from gross. In fact its darned good. Believe it or not, the turkey is great and the moist brisket is da bomb.

everything i tried there has a nice smokey flavor, but i have gone 2 times and neither time was the food hot.

not at all angler. They've got a couyon's in a free standing building next to Hubben's in Port Allen. Its good.

not sure. I never went to the one on Burbank but I heard bad things about it as well. Some coworkers and I went there a few weeks ago and it was suprisingly very good. We've back a couple o' times since and its still good.

Ah...my experience is with the one on Burbank, and it ain't anywhere near good IMO.

agreed.....only took me one trip. i am good with giving places a couple go's...but this was so bad, one was plenty
