The streets are mean and the folks are meaner.

I'd like to hear a detailed account of Welsh, La.

What makes it that bad?

Can y'all go in depth?

Can anyone but PrattLSU try to answer the question?

And I never saw Menace II Society.

However, Pratt, I love the White Guy Motor Army pic you have at the bottom. You could power Shreveport with their motors.

This was the case of Albert E. ("Ed") Batson, who was tried and convicted twice for the murder of five members of the Earle family on a farm near Welsh, Louisiana, in 1902. The murder was a classic circumstantial evidence case, and Batson's execution was quite controversial at the time. The case even inspired a gruesome execution ballad, 2 which was collected by Alan Lomax, and included in John Lomax's book Our Singing Country (1941). The author had never heard of the case or the ballad until retired University of Georgia Chemistry Professor John Garst alluded to it in an e-mail discussion of Ella Speed, another famous ballad Professor Garst had researched. 3 Professor Garst said that when he heard the Lomax recording of African American blues man Stavin' Chain (real name Wilson Jones) singing this wailing song, "at times beating out a solemn dirge on his guitar and then shrieking in hopeless despair," he felt like he had seen and heard an actual hanging. For his part, Lomax reported that he had tried to confirm Stavin' Chain's story of such a murder, but that he was unable to do so. He must not have tried very hard. Contemporaneous ...[/quote]

Always walk on the right side of the walk way

...never look up

...make sure you don't wear red or blue colors

...don't wear a baseball cap

...a fake tatoo will help

...Make sure you have a will made out and next of kin identification on you.

...move in fast, do what you need to do, then leave!!

I'm pretty sure its a joke, based on what JJ's dad said about getting him out of Welsh.

That said...I'm sure Welsh isn't exactly a pleasant place to be.
