no kidding. Seems like everytime a good card comes around it's off before it ever really gets started
lately anyway

I don't even get excited for UFC events anymore. We start off with great cards and then end up with headliners like Evans-Silva, Couture-Coleman, Ortiz-Griffin II, etc.
Yawn

Damn
I was hoping for just absolutely loaded cards this spring, but this isn't a good start

UFC is really screwing the pooch this year. This is the worst month for sports with football just ending. Would be a perfect time for some strong cards.
These guys are getting dinged all the time training. Is this just the nature of the business OR is this just a new way for guys to dodge others? Dodging doesn't seem logical with this as Belfort is the challenger. What do you guys think about dodging and corruption creeping into MMA like in boxing now and for the past 30 years.

can they get hendo back
I have heard rumors about maybe Jake Shields coming over to the UFC. I would love to see all the Cesar Gracie guys come to the UFC. At the same time I think the UFC needs some competition, and I think Strikeforce is doing a pretty good job and has put on some good shows recently.

It would be sweet if the UFC would hold an open weight grand prix tourney like pride did. That would rake in the money.

I'm sry but Jake Shields is never going to be a star. His style is just to boring and if he can't take someone down he's done for. I'd rather see Arona come then Shields

I do not think they are "dodging". I think the sport is so competitive that they do not want to go into a big fight anything less than say 90% healthy. As far as corruption, the only stuff I have seen is some horrible judging.

Would a state sanction this??? The tournaments are brutal but too brutal. Watching these guys go back in lumped up after one hour and fight again would be too much for the US public. Especially with the UFC being mainstream now.

I think the other thing killing the UFC is there has been way to many decisions lately.

I wish they would replace Belfort with Rousimar Palhares... just on the off chance that he can grab one of those skinny limbs.
Maybe they could start the fight on the ground.

They could string it out through PPV's and it would keep intrigue on who's going to stay in the tourney. It would be like an extended playoff

It was not on the same night like the early UFCs. It was spread out over several events. I do think the semifinals and finals were on the same night, they would have to change that.

The sport is getting more technical. More and more fighters are being patient as opposed to being aggressive. You're going to see more Machida's than Wanderlei Silva's.

I know and fans really don't want to see a technical patty cake boxing fight they want to see submissions they want to see guys swinging for the fences. Middleweight has a few good fights but the fights in welterweight and lightweight divisions have become snooze fests. The light heavyweights and heavyweights carry the ufc.

Technical is OK when it is 2 jiu jitsu guys ON THE GROUND. But when 2 BJJ guys stand there and try to box it sucks. Unless one of them is named BJ Penn. That little fricker can box. If he could fight the instinct to leg kick a guy in the middle of a fight he could probably box.

Currently the Ufc is over exposed to me. They have way too many PPV events. We are lucky to see one title defense per PPV. They need to scale down the number of events to maybe one every two to three months. Give us more headliners on one card. Hell, I would even pay more to see an event if it had more fights on the card with more title defenses.
