which was more meaningful/special/fun for you. LSU's NC in 03, or this SB win?

Really curious to see which had more of an impact.

i wasn't even a huge fan of CFB or LSUat that point, as i was a freshman

the whole ending of that year was unreal

the Auburn game, then the SECCG were unreal

i'm happy to have run on the field against AU, b/c that will never happen again in tiger stadium

keep the faith. Les might take us back to that level and then you can charge again in a few years time under the new coach.

naw we won't be charging the field b/c of the fines and shite that come along with it

cops line the fricking student section now to prevent it

in 2001 a cop helped me over the rail

I really just want to know how the fans of both teams felt about the different years. Or really, which had the most importance to them.

I'd say 2003 lsu by a tiny bit just because it open the door for the rest of the decade.

But the Porter pic was my fsvorite sports moment ever.

LSU's run in 2003 was magical, and the futility was a lot longer than the saints' futility

that team evolved once JV started running wild, and the whole OU loss and the other late games going our way, and then being HUGE dogs to "the greatest CFB team of all time," against "big game bob," etc etc

we were not expected to win that shite. the saints were regarded as the #1 or #2 team in the NFL for almost this entire year

yeah but LSU basketball just happens. No real emotional attachment. Cool if it happens, but whatever.

The baseball team's runs to the CWS are way better for me at least.

baseball just doesn't do anything for me

this SB win, but i wasn't a big lsu fan before i came here. it took a game or two for me to rep up

since it has been mentioned, 2002 wc was memorable for me, but only because it's one of the few moments in sport where i was absolutely infuriated. i would honestly consider punching torsten frings in the face if i saw him on the street

true.

I just wondered if since usually CFB is much more emotional to fans, if that would translate to the celebration/enjoyment as well.

NFL is cool and all but when your team loses there isn't quite the punch in the dick feeling there is with CFB.

Great question. As an LSU alum who isn't from Louisiana, I'd be curious to know the answers too.

I know people from New Orleans who attended LSU and were Saints fan and not really LSU fans. I would guess that most people from New Orleans will say the Saints. Civic pride is huge and they definitely stick together.

It might be different for people who come from LSU families and people from outside of NO.

Hard to say. Lsu 2003 and this super bowl are a coin flip. Tonight was insane in the city and so cathartic. I think this meant more to saints fans than 2003 meant to the lsu only fan. I'm torn, but this was the biggest pinnacle of u.s. sports and I had an awesome time with friends and family.

Pretty much this, minus the World Cup. I really wasn't into soccer at that point.

It really just depends on the person and how they grew up. I would bet the house more people in this state than not would say that the SB win tonight is more emotional to them than the 2003 NC game. But of course, this is an LSU website and most here will say the opposite
