I've enjoyed watching this years walk ons play this year.. i have to say, non of them would have seen floor if brady was still coaching.. glad to have trent and glad to see these guys playing significant minutes.

Good for them that they get to play but walkons playing significant minutes is a very bad thing

Me too. I'd rather watch these walk-ons play than the waste of "talent" that's on scholarship.

There would have been more scholarship players on the roster and no need to have walkons playing so much barring injuries.

Yeah. Because we always had a full roster of scholarship players under Brady...

Before post #465 please research LSU and draconian sanctions 1999-2001.

What exactly is your argument? Beginning in what basketball season can we begin to critically examine Brady's recruiting classes without the sanctions being a consideration?

You said research draconian sanctions from 1998-2001. Did the "draconian sanctions" affect Brady's recruiting efforts for the following one year? Two years? Three years?

Why would JB play walk-ons instead of the All-Americans?

No, but the lack of scholarships and official visits had a cumulative effect on the program through at least the 2003 season.

The turnaround di begin in 2002 with a NIT bid then in 2003 an NCAA bid. Beginning in 2003 we saw the recruiting really take a dramatic leap. Remember that after only one winning season between 1994 and 2001 and the NCAA sanctions recruits were not just jumping into the program. It took a while to turn things around.
