TJ needs to "steal' a marquee player from Kentucky or NC- basketball country- DB may not have been the greatest coach but he understood recruiting and building a program

keep in mind that dale had to go through some lean years before he could 'steal' anyone

agree - but my point is TJ needs to prove he can recruit outside the state and sign a top talent player-

Aleva will give TJ his opportunity to build his team- I think he has three years left to do that- unless we go winless in the SEC this year and then next year we see no improvement- then Aleva will lose his patience

So here's hoping we get on track

will not do that, he is going for four year players, which works in the NIT tourney.

TJ needs to use the strategy of Dale Brown? How can anyone claim to know which strategy will work best for Trent? Really? You honestly believe you know what will work better for him, than he does?

my point is the story on Rudy is to sell a marquee player on coming here to help us rebuild.

as to recruiting 4 year players- that is tough in today's world-

He has proven it already, it just so happens that stud recruit blew out his knee before his senior year. I'm not saying Dotson was the 2nd coming of Christ here, but he was regarded highly and from Seattle. Meets both criteria.

Dotson is not even close to Rudy or any of the other recruits we have put in the NBA

I am not sure but wasn't Dotson rated like 46th in the country before he blew his knee out.

Most guys that have a significant lower body injury it takes almost 2 years to get back to a top level of performance.

One year of recovery and rehab then playing on it for a year to get your confidence back

I hope you are right - we need all the help we can get - but it makes me think of Randy Livingston who never truly recovered while at LSU

Where did I say that? I simply said Trent already fulfilled your criteria. So far however, Dotson hasn't lived up to the billing. Had he not blown his knee out and been out of basketball for almost 2 years, this could be a different story.

4 **** top 100 recruit = check
national recruit = check

My how fast we forget what he did last year with talent.

I remember last year TJ in a press conference saying you guys love me now but remember this so when we struggle next season I hope you guys will be still be behind me.

We lost a lot and this season is going as expected like TJ said the SEC was young last year we were older and we took advantage of that fact. This season the SEC is older and we're younger so he knew we were going to struggle.

There is nothing you can point to in TJ's career that says he wont be successful here at LSU ride it out guys better days are ahead. The big Blue chip your asking for will come they always do.

I think if he stays around long enough to get it turned around He will be able to recruit head to head with anybody in the country. It would not surprise me if he had us in the final four within the next three years!

Pretty sure we had a football coach who thought it was more important to recruit Texas and Florida...and then we lost prime in-state talent and he got fired.

Face it, even dumb shite Brady got a Final Four with LA talent.
