I'm starting to wonder if rewatching episodes makes it any clearer. Either way, I am STOKED for tomorrow night.

Im in a bad situation with LOST. Is saw basically the whole 1st season. Then stopped watching the 2nd-5th. And now Im thinking about watching the 6th season, but ik that im gonna be confused as shite. 1st season was awesome, but as the other seasons went on, there ended up being WAYYY to much information.

Watching season 2-5 will take about 100 hours to watch. That will take me about a year to find the time to get all that in.

I think im just gonna watch season 6 and be like, "wtf is happening", rather then watch everything else.

Hell no. You wouldn't have a clue what is going on. You don't even know who Ben or Jacob are yet. Get caught up with Netflix or Hulu and then you can start watching season 6. I've watched the first part of the Season 6 Premiere, and even I have no idea what is going on, and I'm a huge LOST nerd. You would be completely lost.

why would you do this? If you enjoy the show, you're skipping a ton of great stuff just to see an end that you won't understand. Not only that but you have to wait a week b/n each episode w/ commercials, etc. By the time you'd be caught up, you'd be able to watch season 6 uninterrupted which adds a lot more to the series

And to be honest that is a pretty terrible list of "essential" episodes. 1 episode from Season 1? As far as most essential episodes, heres what I would rank them:

1) Pilot
2) White Rabbit
3) Exodus
4) Live Together, Die Alone
5) Flashes Before Your Eyes
6) The Man from Tallahassee
7) The Man Behind the Curtain
8) Through the Looking Glass
9) Because You Left
10) The Incident

Trust me, it will ruin LOST and you will immediately dismiss it as sci-fi crap since you will have absolutely no idea what is going on. You have no idea what the capabilities of the Monster are, you have no idea what dharma is, and you have no clue what the Others are. Not to mention you don't know well over half of the characters and how they got to this point. LOST isn't about the answers, but about the journey, and you will miss the journey completely if you start watching at season 6. You would be doing yourself a serious disservice. As I put it, I watched the first hour of Season 6 and even I don't know what is going on, and it is a pretty big obsession of mine.

Watch it on Netflix if you have it, or Hulu if you don't.

How do they know which episodes are essential to watch prior to the last season?

I don't buy it.

I convinced a buddy of mine who stopped watching midway through season 3 to get watching it again last weekend. He started from the very beginning last Sunday and has made it all the way through season 4 today. Plans on watching season 5 today to be ready for tomorrow.

I have no idea how he did it. I think it involved a lot of pot.

I honestly wish I could stop time and watch all of them, but I just dont have the time. It would take me all month to watch season 2, and then id probably get tired of wasting my time watching a scify show. I blame myself for not watching LOST in the past.

I'm afraid half of the answers we seek will be answered "indirectly".

I still don't even remember this shark. There was probably something else I was confused about when that shark had his screen time, and I overlooked him.
