once things started going south and brady was relieved of his duties, morgan's aau pimps started steering him towards ucla. i've heard this from more than one of my friends who are familiar with the hoops world up around DFW. ucla wasn't the only one trying to jump in. who knows what happens if butch stays, tommy had some other reasons, he just committed way too early IMO. morgan just hasn't turned out to be very good. i went to see him play when i was working a j ob in richardson, tx and i saw him get out rebounded and out worked on the low block by a 6'6 kid that couldnt have weighed more than 200 lbs. i think trent did the right thing letting him walk, LSU didn't need that shady aau posse hanging around.

also it seems randolph had kind of put himself in bad standings with some teammates according to those who were around the team at the time. apparently he may have been even more ready mentally to leave school than he was physically. lots of what ifs for last year's team just like in 2006. what if bass had returned. what if thornton had been able to enrole and play at lsu as a freshman that season. would have been something. im hoping this team can try and rail off some wins here at the end of the year. when butch took over that team two years ago they went on a spirited run towards the end of the season, hoping this team can find a way to win some. hope to see a couple of good crowds at the pmac this week.

You made some excellent points. It is all speculation since Brady was terminated and Johnson was hired so who knows which recruits would have stayed and how the team would have performed.

Despite some reservationsa about recruiting phiposophy I amsupportive of Trent as I am of any coach leading the purple and gold. I truly hope he becomes teh most successful coach in LSU history.

When Butch took over the team, he went .500, the exact same winning percentage Brady had that year in the conference. No difference. This flew in the face of every NEGATIGER who swore up and down that all our problems were Brady, and that any coach would do better. WRONG!!
