I can't imagine they'd be on him like they seem to have been and not actively want him.

but who knows in recruiting.

I really like his video and I will be disappointed if they do not close the deal.

It would be right up there with clock management during the ole miss game.. I would be really really down and confused how that could be..

I want Copeland bad..real bad

I am not a coach, I don't know much, but his film doesn't lie about his abilities as a defensive football player...The staff would have a cat in the bag to let that happen.

He gets his offer..the kid isn't going to travel all the way from Georgia if that wasn't kinda assumed..

the coaches maybe just trying to see who wants to commit and what spots are left.

We need one for Boone, Ego, and Copeland,,,and fobbs..we have 3 left

The only thing I can think that may dissuade them is if he's really closer to 240 than 270.

if I'm not mistaken his coach says he's around 270 and could be bigger by the time he leaves high school.

or did I dream that? Someone let me know if I had too much to drink

Your first point is made obvious by your second. Film/highlight reels are the worst way to judge talent.

How do you know the strength of the competition?

Does he play that well all the time or just for the segments of film 'chosen' for his highlight?

Film is good to gain attention but it DOES lie about abilities and if the coaches evaluating don't like what they see they don't care about the film.

Yeah. And, if he shows up and looks like he could be in that range, then I agree you offer him in a second.

But, what if he shows up and looks lean and closer to 240? Do you offer that guy? Certainly, I'm just speculating.

Did he put on a lot of weight after his highlight reel? He looks 250 max on what I saw.

This speculation is stupid. For my money, I have in order of preference for the last recruits:

1. Ego
2. Boone
3. Jackson
4. Fobbs
5. Copeland

We do not have room for all.

I would think you do, even though it's an obvious redshirt situation..or maybe you play him at defensive end early, and move him around once he's bulked up.

FWIW I went and looked it up, and his coach claims he could be ~290 by the time he graduates. Obviously his coach has kind of an interest in the kid and is likely exaggerating at least a bit, but who knows.

shite, Luke are you actually hearing this or just playing Devil's advocate? I will cry if we don't offer this kid as well as strike out on EGo.

I don't think Ego or Fobbs will be at LSU, fwiw. We have 25 spots taken as of tonight, with room for 3 more out of those 5..and I think 2 of them could make the decision pretty easy for LSU.

Listed at 240 on Rivals and definitely looks to be that weight on film. I think his coach is full of shite.

NO WAY Jackson is ahead of Copeland..

Please watch both films back to back..and you tell me who is the beast?

Jackson looks like he is running on the moon..

Once Freak and the other arrive, Jackson would never play a down at LSU IMHO...

Copeland is an under-rated 4 star player..Check out other boards on this him...

Jackson looks lucky to be holding a 3 star eval...Just my 2 cents..but seriously Jackson doesn't do anything for me

I perceive Jackson was a back up plan, and Copeland would be a nice get! Just like Boone would be
