Interesting. They are all owned by the same family. I played ball with several of the brothers. I'll have to do some recon on what's up with this. Wonder if they are trying a different concept?

i've tried the o'neal jam shoppe a few times, and thought their food was not near as good as the one on perkins.

even the food at the one on perkins seems to have gone downhill lately. the jambalaya tastes like it's been frozen & reheated.

I think I remember Chet telling me that a lot of their prep is done off site now.

eta: I have noticed that their jambalaya is a bit crunchy more often than not lately. I usually get the gumbolaya, and the rice has been a bit tough to chew.

Jambalaya Shoppe in Denham opened up without talking to other owners (at least the one off of o'neal lane). This allowed them to get out of the name and open their own gig.

Same owners. Same great service. Better food.

If the same owners had to adhere to having the same food/menu as the other jam shoppes, than they couldn't even do that very well. I'll definitely give the new name with the "better food" a try though, you never know.

ETA: Gugs, if you guys can serve a grilled shrimp poboy, than why can't y'all serve a grilled catfish poboy? Also, having a pasta dish on the menu would be nice too.
