Yeah, it's dumb. Ohio State has 50,000 people. No way there's a ton of hot chicks, in that group of 25,000+ females.

As for weather, I'd rather go through conditioning/two-a-days in 85 and not humid than 95 and humid, FWIW. And OSU has an indoor practice facility at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, which they use in bowl prep, so they never practice/play in the cold (besides three weeks in November where it's in the 40s, big deal). Walking outside in the cold for a few seconds isn't that bad. But I'd rather be in Ohio for summer than TX/FL, and opposite for winter. They balance out, though.

And, FWIW, that would be one of the LAST things in the world I'm thinking about, if I'm a major recruit.

In 5 years, Mack Brown has lost 2 kids he has offered in state, A Peterson and J McFarland, both to OU- impressive

Sorry, only one of those years. Scout had us #1 last year. We were top 5 the year before, though.

very disappointing year not only in ohio, but recruiting in general. OSU has no, zero 5 * recruits this year and henderson is our only remaining shot at landing 1. I'm 60% sure he's not coming to C-bus (thats my gut feeling) so I'm pretty sure that 2/3 will really disappoint.

I always like our classes to be top 5, but it's just not realistic. Tress is usually good at finding "diamonds in the rough". Most of our really big-time players in recent memory have not been 5* (Heyward, Coleman, Homan, Carpenter, Hawk, Gonzo, Smith, Holmes, Laurinaitis, Pittman, Malcolm Jenkins...) as opposed to 5* (Clarett, Beanie, Ginn, [TP and Posey, too, but don't know if they've fully arrived yet], and if I'm forgetting any, let me know).

I'll give him a pass this year, after the last two.

Warmer climes for OH recruits. Who wants to play in 20 degree weather and look at their wimmens.

yeah, who would want to play for one of the top programs in the country with some of the best facilities and in their home state?

Hicks is from Texas. Grew up a Longhorn fan. He moved to OH and played HS ball here, but it's not a huge surprise.

I think he is from South Carolina originally, not Texas.

Ohio State is a great school with a great football tradition but so is Texas. I've been to both places and Austin has better weather and much, much hotter wimens.

The LB depth at OSU is 2nd to none right now.

Our 2 best starters are back for another year, and we have like 7 studs in the wings.

He is a great player and I would have loved to have him; but eh I'm not destroyed over him

If we don't get Henderson i'll be pissed; and I'm still livid over SF (f you gators)

Norwell is a five star, at least according to Scout.

definitely a disappointing class this year. Hopefully Tressel can land Henderson, but I don't have high hopes.

Hicks was born in SC but moved to Texas and considers Texas his home state. We as LSU fans really don't need to be harping on OSU too much.I think they do just fine.I wish we had their connctions in FLA.This was an unusual year in Ohio.Ware wasn't a priority to OSU.They wanted Rod Smith and got him.Latwan Anderson wanted an offer form OSU for a long time but had grade issues and they offered very late.He has already gotten comfortable with WVU.Hicks was very well recruited by Texas and has ties to Texas.I wouldn't make a lot of fun at OSU's expense regarding Hicks because we might have our own little dilema with trying to outrecruit Muschamp/Texas for Rasco next year.OSU will get Henderson or James imo.I think Henderson is theirs.I don't buy the fact that he is going to USC.I may be completely wrong.Either way they are going to get Morgan Moses as a nice cnsolation if they miss on both.

He is. I read he was from Texas, but he's not (or, at least, he was born in SC). I do think he grew up a Horn fan, but can't confirm. Either way, this quote basically said why the in-state thing wasn't a big deal:

quote:

Hicks said, "I don't feel like I turned my back on Ohio State. ... I wasn't born here. In the end, it came down to what was best for me, and Texas was best for me.

"Ohio State is an Ohio school. I'm not from Ohio. I really don't have that connection there from growing up liking them. Location and distance didn't have a factor, really."

quote:

I've been to both places and Austin has better weather and much, much hotter wimens.

I won't say C-bus has better weather, of course, but I don't think it's that much worse than Austin (when talking about all 12 months) and I also don't think recruits would (or should) use it as a big aspect.

quote:

much, much hotter wimens.

And here, I won't say OSU has more than UT, but again, I don't think the gap is as big as you act.

I've been to many colleges for party reasons throughout the Southeast and up the east coast and I'll tell you that all coed colleges have a lot of beautiful women.Texas has a lot of them but just from looking on the internet you're not seeing the real picture. They aren't showing the not so attractive ones.
My top 5 I've seen in person
1.FSU(nothing needs to be said about FSU)
2.LSU(a little bias but I love LSU women)
3.Uconn(Very underrated and they throw bomb parties)
4.VA Tech(Wild.Nothing there but mountains,women,beer)
5.East Carolina(Parties every day and women are nice.Summer has great weather and bikinis)

Jenkins was a 5.5 3 star I think. You guys can have him back because hes played like shite at CB this year. He needs to be moved to Safety or something.

I will gladly take him back. Regardless of how he does in the pros (and he's still a rookie, maybe give him some time?) it's not every day that 3* guys turn into Thorpe Award winners. We are talking about COLLEGE in this thread/board, after all.

Jenkins graded better at S for the draft anyway.he was out of position trying to play corner in the NFL.We have good Safeties right now so he would be a backup.Need to groom him for when Sharper hangs it up.

This. Morgan Moses is a huge get. A top offensive lineman with an extra year in the weight room before hitting campus.

I'd put our chances at Henderson at 60/40. The word on him regarding Ohio State has been very positive.

Yes, it's been a bit of a down year recruiting but if Ohio State ends up with Norwell, Henderson and Moses they'll have the top offensive line class in the nation and football is still won and lost in the trenches.

Add in Jamel Turner who was 5* before some character issues downgraded him and there are very high quality linemen on both sides of the ball.
