These numbers are about what I expected. Further proof that Pete Carroll wasn't very good when it comes to X's and O's. All based on Scout's rankings.
LSU - 24
Bama - 11
Florida - 31
USC - 53
Texas - 24
Broken down into 4 star commits:
LSU - 50
Florida - 48
USC -43
Bama - 44
Texas - 56

So USC has fewer 4* recruits than top 100 players?

do you find anything strange about that?

That's right. They are heavy on the 5 star players. Not all of the 4 star guys are in the Top 100.

Let me get this straight. You're criticizing a guy who appeared in 2 NCG and won 1 of them, a record 6 BCS bowl appearances, 7 years as pac-10 championship games, produced 25 all americans. You are saying he doesn't know x's and o's?

Once took a look at this stuff. USC has like 20% 5-stars on the roster.
My favorite LSU rivals 100: Lester Richard

its 7 BCS bowl appearances and 6 wins, throw in an AP title, a 34 game winning streak, 7 strait years of 11 wins and top 4 finishes. Nope he can't coach at all.

What recruiting service doesn't list a top 100 guy as a 4 star.
How many 5 stars do they have in that period of time. Is it somewhere around 20 or so. Still hard to believe that they didn't have more than 43.

And a BCS MNC.
I'll take this guy anyday over a coach who does even less with equal talent.

Im sorry but I think this is incorrect. They at least had one loss in 2003. If they didn't the would've been in the national title game. They lost to Cal 34-31.
