PM's overall record 998-554-6
only 2 wins away from 1000

record at LSU 134-62-2
last two seasons 105-36-1

but it gets even better...

For the past two seasons when April 22nd has come around the baseball team really starts to play well (when it matters)

LSU's record after this date for the past 2 seasons is a combined 53-8. that's getting it done.

I honestly think he's the best coach at LSU in all of the major sports. He is a great ambassador for LSU.

I honestly don't think so yet.

Better than L. Miles??? Yes, by miles...

Better than TJ??? I would give Trent 2 more years before comparing him to Mainieri.

Trent is the best pure coach we have.
Les might be the best recruiter.
Paul is the best blend

Not so fast, my friend! Again, not knocking TJ, but Coach Mainieri seems to have pushed the right buttons at the right time, and his teams play their best in the 2nd half of the season. He has made questionable position changes like the infield shuffle last year with DJ, Nola and Hanover, that in retrospect were pure genius. If you look at the total package (ambassador for the program, brilliant coach, recruiter, manager and all-around nice guy), I'm not sure that there's a better college coach in any sport at ANY program.

Hard to argue with that.
