Super Bowl lottery question

I am still perplexed as to how they dished out the Super Bowl tickets. I am happy for the people that got them, but it seems as if they disregarded the length of time you had tickets to a large extend.
I have put almost 30 yrs into 6-8 tickets and get by passed by someone with 2-3 yrs and 4 tickets?? Still not a happy camper today.
This system sucks. I hope they don't decide to upgrade seats this way next season.

Sal I have read they have more tickets that they have not given away. Maybe they will get their head out their arse and distribute the next batch properly. I will find the link hang tight.

I am pretty sure you got more entries into the lottery based on the years you have had tickets.
I feel for you in this situation, but someone is always unhappy. I kind of like how they do this better than LSU's system, which generally equates to how much money you donate to LSU will determine if you get tickets and how many.

All seat locations will be assigned by the lottery, and no change in location or pricing category is possible, the Saints announcement said.
The deadline to pick up the $800 tickets from the Metairie facility is Friday at 10 a.m. The Saints will accept only cashier's checks.
The Saints' "initial allocation" represents 5.4 percent of the tickets for the game. Saints officials have not said how they plan to distribute the remaining 12.1 percent of tickets that the NFL has assigned to the team

What pisses me off about this is assuming you or I fall into tickets good luck finding airfare and rooms by the time they figure it out.

This is precisely my problem...
I have a place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale, but airfare is going to be a bitch. It's already jumped up since this time yesterday... it will just keep going up as the game nears.

My blood pressure is becoming the issue.

My understanding is that you did get credit for that.
The way it worked was that you got 1 "ball" for every year you've had each season ticket.
So, if you had 6 tickets for 30 years, you had 180 "balls" in the lottery.
If you had two tickets for 3 years, you got 6 "balls" in the lottery.
That doesn't mean that the guy with the 180 "balls" will automatically win. He just has a greater chance.
BTW, it's done by a computer program. There are no lottery balls per se.

maybe they gave tickets to people that know Super Bowl is TWO words

it's still a lottery, with random chances of luck... some dumbass could buy a million lottery tickets and somebody else can buy one, the person with one ticket could still win.
nba lottery... you see teams all the time get lucky and get a top pick with a small chance.
shite happens, randomly.

yea its done on a weight scale meaning more years and more tickets equals bigger chance, but it is a lottery like the nba draft that 2 percent guy could still beat you

Newbomb,
Where did you get this information? I wish I had seen this somewhere before I went off. Still do not like it, but if this is accurate, it explains a lot that was left out of what I read and saw on the news.
