my wifes uncle dirk. died 3 years ago walking his dog before one of the playoff games.

+1 but mine died in January so he missed the 1st winning season. He taught me to be a fan win or lose

My dad for sure.
He bought season tickets on a meager income for the entire family in 1967, turning all of us into lifelong suffering fans. Throughout it all he kept up a "this could be the year" attitude.
When he was in the hospital towards the end in 1995, he heard my brother and I discussing the upcomining Saints season with the same perrennial optimism and cut us off, saying the Saints will never be good and we shouldn't have false hopes. We knew then that his situation was grave.

I've thought about him alot recently and wish he could be here to see this. He'd have a hellluva time.

My dad and my granddad. Both smoked Camel no filter. they attended the first game at tulane Stadium. A big part of me is going for them tomorrow b/c they would never miss this. Will smoke a cuban in honor of my favorite people.

My Brother Darren died in 92 that Friday before we played the Bears. He wanted to watch that game before he passed. I lOVE and miss your BRO.

I am wearing a Buddy D pin tomorrow on my jersey. Buddy D would be on so much Xanax right now if he was still here. Still love you Buddy D despite you butchering the King's language.
