Wife and I are staying downtown for the weekend and are looking for an upscale place to eat lunch tomorrow.

The original plan was to go to dinner with a group of people but they all wanted to go to Drago's, which I enjoy but isn't what I had in mind. As a result, we decided to join everyone for dinner Sat night but go on our own for lunch.

We were thinking steak but could be convinced otherwise. Besh steakhouse and Dickie Brennas are closed for lunch. Any suggestions other than Ruth's, Mortons, etc?? Like I said, we are looking for something more high end.

If not steak, any other suggestions?

Since we are staying at the Hilton Riverside we would like to stay in the warehouse dist/ Quarter/downtown area but uptown suggestions welcome as well.

Thanks.

La Boca or Rio Mar, may not be as upscale as you are looking for but both are excellent.

I have also wanted to try Wolfe's, which i believe was formerly Peristyle.

What is the word on that establishment BIG?

I've heard nothing but good things and gotten good reviews on Herbsaint, 701 St. Charles Ave.

On my list as well and have heard great things but they don;t do a Saturday lunch. This is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.

I love Luke! Great seafood gumbo. I just went there and heard women talking about how Luke was doing .25 oysters and half price drinks from 3:00 to 6:00. I looked at my watch and it was 5:50. We hurried up and ordered more drinks and sure enough all our drinks were half price on the bill. The waitress never mentioned it.
