I think a better question is...would you trade one of LSUs championships for a Saints Superbowl win?

congrats, you have defined the term bandwagon
Not necessarily. I would have said the same thing because they haven't won one in 40+ years, but since LSU has won two National Championships in five seasons, I would rather see the Saints get a Super Bowl.
If I could choose both I would, but that's not the question. But after they win that first Super Bowl, I say National Championship every time.

I'm an LSU alum and life long LSU fan, but
Saints Super Bowl >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LSU national championship
People all over the world watch the super bowl and know it when you win it. Can't say that about any college championship.
Also, there's no doubt about it when you win the super bowl you're the champion. Biased voters can't do anything to take it away or keep you out.

Yes. I'd trade LSU's 2007 championship for the Saints winning the SB this year.

Oh, so it's not about personal pride, it's about attention.
I'd take an SEC championship, with victories over Florida, Alabama, and Ole Miss before a Saints Super Bowl.

I dont care about people all over the world, mainly just the ones that live 1,2,3,4 states over to my right.

It's a much bigger prize. Super Bowl sunday is like a hoilday for me regardless of who is playing in it with a few exceptions.
I just can't put a lot of weight on a college football championship with all the media bias. How can an undefeated team not have a shot at a championship? How can you share a championship with another team?

After winning 2 national titles in the last 7 years, I'd rather the saints get a few super bowl titles, and if the cost of that is LSU going 0-12 for a few seasons in a row, i'm cool with that.

On an LSU Board you are asking this quetion, are you a fool? Tigers all the way!

I just can't put a lot of weight behind an institution like the NFL, full of players who don't give half a shite about the uniforms, traditions, teams, or fans they play for. For 95% of players, the city they end up in doesn't matter; it's all about the $$$. At least in CFB, there is passion for something other than money. The vast majority of these kids will never go pro -- they care about the school I love.

You forget, not all LSU fans are saints fans.

Kinda of like the college players that leave school early for the NFL

Yeah, NFl players don't care about winning a super bowl

The vast majority of college FB players chose a school based on what school and coach will give them the best chance at making it the NFL. It's not love for the school.

What % of CFB players leave early for the NFL? I'm willing to bet it's less than 5%.

Yeah, NFl players don't care about winning a super bowl
And I'm sure that has nothing to do with the pay raises many of them are sure to receive, or in reality, demand. And if they don't get the raise/bonus, they will go to a team who CAN pay them.

This is absolutely, completely false. Look at the number of kids who make it from NCAA to NFL. It's a very, very small number. You don't know what you're talking about.

True only a small % make it, but ALL kids getting scholly offers from div 1-A schools (especially big name schools) are dreaming about making it to the NFL and I'm sure they believe they have a very good shot if they work hard enough and play for a great coach that will develop their skills. These kids are dominant on the high school level and are used to being the best athletes on the field
Keep in mind NFL players come from the college level. The level you're claiming players only play for the love of the school, sport, chapionships, etc. So these players all of a sudden stop playing for love of the game and just $$$ once they get drafted. Doesn't make sense to me.

I completely agree - There is no comparison between School pride/support and following a pro team.
You can make that argument with most pro sprots franchises
The Saints are the exception
