Just purchased NCAA 2010 so that I can start playing with some friends. I have never played football video games, and I am terrible. Any online source that has tips, tricks, and advice?

I'm assuming that I should do most of the spring drills to learn how to play? Right?

no spring drills play with a team that has a faster qb so you can have more time to see the field and the d. If you get a team with a pocket passer it will take you longer to adjust if you need any help on recruiting just ask me I can help with that to

Well, how do you learn all the little ins and outs of the game then? Just blindly start playing games and learn along the way?

yes. play against the computer on heisman. youll eventually figure it out.

playcalling is very very important.

if the offense is running a power I and you are in a dime defense...
if the offense is in a 5 wide set and you are in a 4-4...

I would start out on All american or varsity until you get better. You will learn the ins and outs through out playing it really isnt that complicated. The most important thing you have to learn is hot routes and audibles. Also you have to learn how to pressure the computer or it will throw all over you.

A lot of guys have been playing since Danny Wuerfful was on the front in '98. If not that long, at least since the game has been on the next-gen systems and have developed little strategies that work no matter who they are playing.

Eventually, if you play enough, you'll develop these little strategies that fit what you're trying to do. Early on, things probably won't go well, but try and stick with it and play with different teams.

If you don't mind paying $30, I would recommend this:

No way Dime should work against the run in I Form. If it does, that's the game's fault. I usually run 4-3 or a Nickel type blitz against I Form.

for the OP - one easy play to run is Power O in I Formation or Strong I. When you get the ball, push left stick in northeast direction. When you get hit, push right stick in north direction. Should work.

it works against it because dime is the package that seems to do the most D-line stunts...and that works well to open a couple holes which the LB covers and i cover the other with te FS....i NEVER blitz...i think my blitz % is 1...
