Rest easy everyone, Miles has that fire again.

“I look forward to spring, to the guys returning to the field,” Miles said last week in a question-and-answer session with a handful of beat writers. “There are already things I wanted to change about our practice schedule; there are already things I want to change about our approach this fall. I’m looking forward to it.”

“It’s going to be a little different spring,” Miles said. “I’m going to re-evaluate every drill, everything. It’s going to be more competitive. We’re going to look to drills that speak to competition. I think this team, these coaches, I know myself, I may be more motivated than I’ve ever been to coach well. I enjoy that challenge. I think it will be a great challenge for my staff, myself and for our team.”

Will believe it when we see it, but it would be a great move. Competition breeds excellence. Every player needs to know their job is on the line every week.

If we follow Miles logic throughout the season. He said that RS was going to get all the touches and didn't get squat. I believe it's Miles logic is to say one thing and do the exact opposite. After reading this, I think the Spring will be the exact same as it was last Spring.

that reeks of focus on fundamentals.........would be a great move in the right direction IMHO.

Which, of course, would include clock management.

..........and still find a way to play only upper-classmen despite the fact that some incoming freshmen are more gifted and talented

some drills using situations requireing clock mgt would be helpful so all of the coaches and players can get on the same page. but, by far the fundamental skill that must be hammered home is BLOCKING. nothing else comes close. how to block and how to hold your block was our #1 problem this year. our OL wasn't good, but it looked to me that we had a complete break down on blocking by our te's, rb's and wr's. most of these guys are involved with perimeter blocking and picking up the guy that got thru the ol.

The inference is that he was not doing what is necessary to win in the past two seasons and they are now going to change and put the effort into it.

Where have i heard that before? He says the same shite everytime he opens his mouth...How about..." Look, we played like shite 75% of the time this season, made some jackass calls that we should've been taught in elementary, and I now realize that i needa light a fire under some peoples' asses to get things going in the right direction. This shite won't be tolerated anymore and if someone has a problem with the way i'm gonna run things, Tough shite, I'm the HNIC"

That's what i wanna hear!

The reason that Miles has a problem today is because he didn't take care of the problem yesterday! Crowton will be the downfall of Miles just like Tepper was the downfall to Dinardo.

for the life of me I don't understand why so many on this board have a problem identifying coach speak. Miles in front of media is a coach speak machine. He says a ton of words without really saying anything at all. Unless he is fired up, which is where the real les miles comes out.

you know, this should go for coaches too...I think the last two years come from coaches who thought they didnt have to work...
