1500 Calorie Diet

Any good recipes that would fit into this? Just started training and that is the diet I must follow.
it has been really tough for me because I am not trying to lose any weight. Trainer agrees. it would be much easier if I felt this had a weight loss purpose.

I don't really cross out any major food groups.
Love fish.
Like Mexican, Italian, Greek, American, Japanese.
Taco Soup sounds awesome...gonna check it out. thanks.
You think 1500 cal/day is enough to maintain a 5'9" at 130ish? I'm working out 3 days a week.

basically grill everything...
i have to try to push myself over 1500 cal.
a turkey sandwich w/ mayo and a slice of cheese is only 200 cal.
i eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast every morning for 300 cal.
pork has hardley no calories.
also, take fresh greenbeans and toss with olive oil and season w/ salt and pepper and broil til done.
a .5lb baked potato w/ 1/4 cup of shredded cheese and a tbs of butter is like 400 cal.
i could go on as i've been doing this since september and am down about a 40 spot......
edited for spellin

thanks! that does help. I'm trying not to get too crazy and measure everything. Just estimates should be ok.

No way
Even whole wheat bread, one slice is usually around 90 - 110 calories.
And mayo is probably the most fatty condiment.
And a slice of real cheese is 100 calories

well chief, i'm now drowning it in mayo... 1tbs is a lot. i use approx 1/2 a teaspoon. 80 cal for the bread (2 slices of nature's own honey wheat), 70 cal for a slice of 2% pepperjack cheese and about 40 cal for turkey... badda bing, badda boom

well, i'd say that you should start out measuring everything you can (like when you cook) at least to start out. after a while you'll be able to gauge amounts/weights/etc...
note: this is what i did. not saying it's the end all be all, just that it worked for me. oh, and a shite TON of running...

Yeah. thanks! not trying to lose weight, just tone and get healthier.
Posted on 1/10/10 at 10:42 pm to LSUdaughter
Sounds about right for your size / weight / want to tone. Make sure you eat a lot of proteins, that will help you tone. I love boneless, skinless chicken thighs. Just cut off the excess fat.
Sorry for the delay, but that is the correct recipe for Taco Soup.

Egg beaters are only 30 calories per serving. Even if you ate an entire large carton it would only be 420 calories and I doubt you could eat that much. I usually get 4 meals out of a carton so that's around 105 calories per.

If you aren't trying to lose, I think 1500 is kind of low for you, but I'm not the medical professional in this conversation.

Just eat clean. Whole grains, good fats, lean meats. No fried food, decrease intake of processed foods, eat more fiber, etc. Not that I follow that advice myself

Kashi Go Lean Crunch is a pretty good cerea that's "healthy.". Its high in fiber and tastes pretty good. When I go hard-core eating healthy (which I need to start doing again), I generally eat a bowl with skim milk for dessert.
Also if you like PB&j, hit up the jif and sugar-free smuckers jelly on wheat or white-wheat. Great 250 calorie snack or breakfast.
