a beauty contest. do ya think there is one oz. of objectivity in these ratings? i say no, even if LSU held the top 2 spots. fans, in general, love beauty contests so they keep popping up. anyone with a sports related job can have one; that is they get to be the judge and publish the results. to answer your question, usc should not be in there, they did not win the BCS in '03 and should not be included in a story about BCS national champions. it's biased bull-shite allowing a non-participant eligibility to win an award. why not the '04 auburn team, why not the '08 texas team and there are other non-participants. bull shite is bull shite but fans clamor for more.

Jon Wilner is one of the most erratic voters in the AP. He had South Carolina in the top 5 at one point if i'm not mistaken...enough said.

I think this pretty much proves the point. You have 10 years, so you can only have 10 teams. Who has the damn trophy? If this rule applies, its 12 teams, b/c you have to include Auburn.

Nothing to get over. LSU won and USC didn't win.
USC didn't win the NC. USC still didn't win the NC in 03. I just looked it up again and still... USC didn't win in 03.

2003 does not get a fraction of the airplay and discussion with USC fans that it does with LSU fans. And it sure is not brought up here by the USC posters, other than in-kind responses to other LSU posters bringing it up.

I think this is due to the fact that LSU fanbase is more passionate about their football than USC's.

Of course that's why. Or that for some reason many LSU fans, somehow, believe USC's 03 AP NC detracts from their coaches NC. Both are stand alones. USC fans do not believe AU's Golf Digest's NC detracts from their 04 coaches and AP NCs. LSU earned the 2003 coaches (BCS) NC. No one disputes that. No one disputes that AU has the golf digest or whatver 04 title. It is what it is.

USC admittedly has many more national titles than does LSU. That is why it gets more attention from LSU fans. Can't be redone, so it is over. We got the crystal and ya'll got the red arse over it.
