all up in my face after the game yesterday, beating their chests screaming how great they were. I just laughed and said "playoffs" and kept on walking

I mean seriously, they beat us when we did not have Brees, PT, or Sharper and they were pumped up about it. It was hilarious

If Brunell could have actually delivered the ball to our open players, we would have beaten them handily.

Frankly I'm tired of hearing people bitching and complaining that they were not on the field. Last I checked the Saint's second stringers are on an NFL team right? They should have been more prepared yesterday and could have won IMO.

I think it's a pretty good excuse, especially when you have this guy starting at safety:

they really had nothing to lose or gain, so there was no need to fight hard for it. It did kind of suck for me though because I would have loved to see Brees play in person for at least one quarter

No they didn't, but they could have played better and everyone knows it. I did take away some positives from the game though yesterday.

First off, take away 2 long runs, and the saints did decently vs the run with a number of backups in. Casillas also looked good. Secondly, greer looked like he was back in form when he was on the field, very fast. Except for prioleau giving up that touchdown, we didn't let another no name throw all over on us. Third, hamilton looked good, the running game looked good vs the first team panthers, and the wildcat formation?? Is that something we will see in the playoffs? Fourth, peppers was held in check for the most part, and they gave bushrod help. Finally, is it just me, or have the past 3 weeks been really good for reggie bush every time he runs the ball....not receiving, RUNNING. On a side note the special teams still suck.

Similar to when the Ohio Bearcats scored a late TD against Florida and acted as if it was the winning TD.

The difference between 2nd string and 1st string is like the Saints compared to the Lions. You don't expect a team to win when you have 2nd stringers in. I think it's pathetic that you think we should have went into another team's house who have been playing really well lately and roll them with backups.

Also, on the 2 big runs: Ellis and Vilma definely could have helped being in the game. Not saying that Caro wouldn't have still had big rushing plays, but they wouldn't made it so easy looking!!!

Boy your dumb, that's like saying Sugar Ray Robinson (5'11" 134-165 lbs welterweight) should beat Muhammad Ali (6'3" 186-236 lbs heavyweight) in a fight because they are both boxers.

You need to stick to playing video games/madden and leave the real Football talk to competent fans.

Gamer--they are backups and there is a reason why they are backups.....if you expect BACKUPS to beat starters there is definitely something wrong with you

I was at the game also and it was funny how excited they were. They kept chanting "Who Dat" and I kept replying playoffs. Bunch of arse fricks. They even booed Meachum when he got up from his injury. Classless Carolina fans.

i just got back from charlotte. i had some stupid rednecks near me that i got into it with multiple times throughout the game. at one point one of them said something about katrina, and i cursed that dude up and down. actually getting into it with their dumbass fans was the most exciting part of the game. brunell sucks, colston was on the field, but took the week off. i did think the defense did a great job. outside of the long run and the 2 minute drill before halftime, the played well.
