personal foul at game's end bonehead

the coaches need to compile all the bone head plays from
last season, and try to teach their players poise. it's not
necessarily what happens on the field, it is the way things
look on the field. lsu has no control as to whether the pac 10
officials stop the clock, but lsu does have control as to the way it looks. trying to help a flailing lineman up is one thing, but tossing him into your own linemen is another. that doesn't help lining up.that kind of behavior could cause a brawl, an official should call it as well as they should have stopped the clock. if hitt would have made it look better, the officials might have put seconds back.

the only thing bonehead was the officials call to start with. They blew it.

Is this a t.s. eliot poem?

we have no control over an official's individual call. each player only
has control over their own behavior.
has control over their own behavior.

I've lost count at how many close games were decided by a referee's call late in 4th quaters this season not only at LSU, but across the nation. I guess we've finally gotten to that point where money is bigger than the game and other 'agendas' take over outcomes.

This is what really bothers me. College football has become a HUGE business, with millions riding on the outcome of games. The networks want to see big name programs in the championship game ... conferences want to maximize the number of teams in the BCS. If someone doesn't think there's a hidden agenda impacting the outcome of games, then they haven't been paying attention.

The only thing boneheaded about the penalty was the official calling it in the first place.
I somewhat agree about hidden agendas.
If it's not making sure Florida and the Gumps end up undefeated playing in the SEC championship, it's making sure Joe Paterno goes out a winner in possibly his last game.

The one penalty that became increasingly frustrating as the season progressed: delay of game. I know we had at least one, maybe two in last Friday's game.

Sorry, but you can't do stuff like that right in front of a referee. They're going to call it every time.
The calls that always drive me crazy are the delays of game.

I can't fault Hitt for that penalty. The PSU guy should have received a delay/unsportsmanlike for lying on the pile.
That being said, LSU was outplayed and didn't deserve to win....

LSU again shows they are not a discipline team

The LB shouldn't have been allowed to lay on top of another player either. There is such a thing as defensive delay of game penalties.

Which in my mind is even worse than the atrocious play calling we have seen. I was at the Arky game last year and in Orlando and it was the same thing. One guy lost his head for 2 seconds and cost the team a chance to win. Lack of discipline should be unacceptable.

I think a bigger bonehead was calling an inside screen pass in that situation. With time running down and no way to stop the clock, its a huge gamble that it will get a first down. In that case you need to throw the ball to the outside and get out of bounds, or more than 10 yards to stop the clock. What is worse, it was very similar to the play calling for Ole Miss, really boneheaded.

Totally different. We weren't in FG range and we only needed like 15 yards to get there. There were 39 seconds left when we ran the play and we got up to the line of scrimage to spike the ball with around 25-30 seconds left. It honeslty looked to me like LaFell could have ran straight or to the left where his blockers were and got a 1st down. But it in no ways cost us the game, the penalty did.
