I feel peaceful and serene-no residual depression or gloom

I had a great day, got a lot done, had a wonderful dinner with Mrs. Pimp and the Pimpettes.
I've seen a LOT of tough losses during my 36 year love affair with the LSU Tigers, and this one doesn't seem any more significant that most of them.
It's just the latest one.
It was just a rather poorly played game.
An extension of EXACTLY what we have received for the last two years.
Another field goal and we win, and sunshine and lollipops for everyone...
Reading this board you would think the LSU plane crashed over Mississippi on the way back.
It's like a bunch of teenage girls who couldn't score tickets for The Jonas Brothers concert, with all the wailing and misery.
Yet, Nothing changed in my world.
I still go to work Monday, and I will be helping the kids with their homework Monday evening.
Mom is stiff battling cancer, I still have twenty lbs to lose, my wife is still impossibly beautiful.
Life goes on...until it doesn't.
Before long, the letter will come in the mail and I will renew my season tickets and be relatively sure that LSU will field a competitive team.
I know that my desire for an undefeated season likely will not be met.
I will continue to avoid those who seem to revel in LSU-related misery.
I will continue to support the team and the coaching staff and do my part to create a positive attitude for those around me.
The criticism of Les Miles runs the gamut from the dead-on accurate to the lead-based-paint-chip-eating hysterics of the average ranter.
I am glad this board provides an outlet.
I tend to agree with many points from both camps.
I have not stuck my head in the sand nor have I come here to bury Les Miles.
I laugh at the pure sophistry of the elaborate STRAWMEN built on this board.
But I refuse to let all this negativity destroy my enjoyment and passion for LSU football.
I can't wait for 2010 !

Me too buddy. I woke up this morning to a beautiful morning. Promptly gave myself a handjob and then went fishing with my old man.

I really hate it when someone brings a taste of reality to this board.
Glad to see someone else realizes the importance of a GAME in the scheme of things.

Wow, Pimp, you are the man. A voice of reason in a sea of chaos. I couldn't agree more and would love to read more of your posts here.
God Bless, Happy New Year to you and Mrs. Pimp and all the family and...

its not too bad...we didn't win and we didn't deserve to win. Penn St. was just a little less shitty than we were.

Tomorrow is another day. I have already forgotten about how bad we played. Just an L. Can't spell LSU without at least one L

A quick perusal of these silly little LSU -as-the-Hindenburgh- threads makes me feel fortunate on this GLORIOUS Sunday morning, that we live in a country where mental health care is affordable and readily available.

I watched the game with family and friends... then after it was over went back out on the slopes and had a great time skiing with my kids in Park City.
Negativity played no part of my week and the Tigers' loss was a disappointment but not unexpected nor life altering.

Its called apathy ( is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement)...the team sucks in general so many people are going to find other things to do. Watching Miles' teams the last two years has been painful.

It has nothing to do with APATHY.
It has to do with perspective and optimism.
People tend to view LSU football in a way that is reflective of how they live their lives.
Miserable people tend to be miserable about LSU football.
Even when it is good.
This board was awash with doom and angry recriminations in 2007.
There are those among us who are pathologically unable to enjoy LSU football.
It is more of an angry catharsis for them, a way to wash out their stored-up inner turmoil and negativity.
Well-adjusted people tend to shake their heads, and move on , never allowing it to effect them adversely in a truly personal way.
The vast majority of dedicated fans fall in this category.
And so it goes...
