I know some of you will rip into me after this, and I'm probably massochistic for doing this, but I can't wait for the game tomorrow. I love college football and I think this a great matchup of traditional powers. It's hard to believe it's been 30 years since we last played. I'm looking forward to getting "Tiger Baited" by someone tomorrow, and I can't wait to hear the roar of "WE ARE...PENN STATE!" That's what college football is all about- the passion of the fans and the emotions we all have for our teams. So from me to you- here's hoping for a great game and a Hell of a party in Orlando.

It will be a great game as long as everyone has a Dr on stand-by for ligament surgery.

WE ARE...PENN STATE did NOT originate after the "We Are Marshall" movie. It actually originated in 1947 before the 1948 Cotton Bowl. Penn State had already integrated and the unwritten rule of the day was black players could not play against southern teams. Team captain Steve Suhey (father of Chicago Bear Matt Suhey and grandfather of current PSU fb Joe Suhey) told SMU officials before the Cotton Bowl that "We all play or no one plays- We are Penn State!" SMU agreed and the game ended in a tie, with the tying touchdown being scored by Wally Tripplett, a black wide receiver from Penn State. The cheer became a rallying cry for Penn State and our values.

Too bad that what could have been a great game between two traditional football powers is going to get taken away by a POS field.

Agreed on the field. I watched the Florida high school championships over the previous two weekends and the field was in crappy shape for those games. I don't know why they thought they could resod and then have two college games a week later. The Citrus Bowl is such a POS. I'm looking forward to the Gator Bowl having more influence with the Big Ten and SEC and hopefully moving away from Orlando altogether. Jacksonville may not have as much going on as Orlando, but we sure can host a football game!

That's a great story! Thanks for sharing and for posting.

Here's to as well-played and injury-free a game as is possible on that craptastic field.

You guys have a great school, football program, and coach.

I hope we can hang with you.

Happy Holidays to you and I hope the game is injury free, well played, and all have a safe trip back to their homes!!
