The best non BCS bowl game is played in a shitty stadium with a shitty field. Just Awesome.

Although a terrible field sucks to play on for both teams, I dont think it makes them more prone to career ending injuries.
I would think that the lack of stable footing wouild allow the 'give' needed to not have ligaments tear prior to field tearing.
Now the unstable footing may lead to a few more tweaks and milder type sprains.
I make the comparison from the old astroturf stuff that had zero give versus newer field turf that has some forgiveness.
