theory behind the Colts sitting Manning.

I've been going over the playoff scenerios and came across this. Not real big on conspiracys, but, it makes me wonder if the Colts head coach might have wanted something like this to happen.
If you look at it from a playoff perspective, there are only 2 spots left in the AFC. There are 5 teams fighting for those 2 spots, in this order.
5. Denver
6. N.Y. Jets
7. Baltimore
8. Houston
9. Pittsburg
Out of those five you would think Indy's head coach would rather see Denver, N.Y., or Houston. It may be a stretch, but, I don't think he wants to see Baltimore or Pittsburg making the playoffs.
Go back to when he pulled Manning, they were up 15-10 with an undefeated season on the line. Then he pulls the plug. The key to this is the Jets jump over Baltimore with a win over Indy. The HC already knew Baltimore lost to Pittsburg and Houston won. I really think being a rookie head coach, he made this move in order to give Indy a better chance at teams they match up with.
Call me crazy, but, I'm not buying his reasoning for doing what he did. A chance at an undefeated season only comes around once. He didn't blow that just to rest and keep his players from getting hurt. I would bet there is way more behind that move than people know.

I think a better theory is he did it to really piss Manning off. Did you see the look on his face on the sideline? He was fricking furious!
Manning is going to do everything humanly possible from here forward to drag that team to the Super Bowl.

that's a possibility, but, Manning is running that show in Indy. If the HC did that for that reason he's an idiot. Manning is one of the fierces QBs in the NFL. He hasn't missed a game in his career and damn sure doesn't need anyone to motivate him.

I thought about it, but I doubt he is scared of any of those teams. None of those teams can challenge the Colts

Manning isn't going to do any more to try and win the SB then he would be doing had he not sat on Sunday.

I think the two teams at 5 and 6, Denver and N.Y., are the two he wants to face.

Denver is not the 5 , Denver is the 7th, if Baltimore and NY win they are both in
