Developing Players

I know there has been a lot of talk about Miles not being able to develop players while here at LSU, so I figure let's make a list of Players that have developed and not developed under Miles' here at LSU. Let's look at College production and not NFL production. Also, I don't count JUCOs because they only get two years and are expected to just produce immediately.
Developed
Lafell - 3*
Ciron Black - 3*
Steltz - 4*?
Herman Johnson - 4*
Dorsey - 4* on Rivals (5* on Scout)
T. Jackson - 3*
Chevis Jackson - 3*
Zenon - 3*
C. Scott - 4*
Helms - 4*?
Highsmith - 4*
Q. Johnson - 3*
Jacob Hester - 2*
Kelvin Sheppard - 3*
Not Developed
Keiland Williams - 5*
Al Woods - 5*
Rahim Alem - 4*
Carnell Stewart - 4* (did well at OL, but not DL)
Kyle Anderson 4*
Ryan Perriloux 4* (didn't handle him well at all)
Antonio Robinson 4* (transferred real quick)
Jury out because of injuries:
Ryan Miller 4*
RJ Jackson 4*
Please let me know if I am missing anyone or wrongly putting people into groups.

KW was unused. Not under developed.

Yeah that's what i meant.

perhaps he was unused because he didn't develop/wasn't developed...this will be the biggest mystery in the history of LSU football.

The issue isnt just developing players. Its players taking 2 or 3 years to make an impact.
example:
Julio Jones and AJ Green vs Ruben Randle in their respective true freshman seasons.

Yeah I'm just going off what i would see in games. Sometimes he'd come in and bust off a good run or two then get yanked and not see him for another quarter.

I can understand that he was not used, but I say you have to assume a 5* player isn't developed if they sit the bench most of the time and only get 5 or less touches a game on average throughout their career.
For the sake of this argument I am looking at college production and development on the collegiate level. Keiland had less than 1,700 yards in 4 years of play.

those guys were #1 the day they hit campus and didn't have 2 top future draft picks in front of them. Let's see how RR does this year before we jump to that conclusion.

Bama and Georgia had shite for receivers when they arrived.

Umm... 1) How are you comparing freshmen player developments? There is a reason I am not comparing players here for the most part until their 3rd, 4th or 5th years.
The only younger player I am thinking hasn't developed that you can MAYBE make a claim on is Jarrett Lee.
Randle is behind two potential 1st rounders that are upper classmen. Bama had no talent at WR and neither did UGA.

very true..the regression of Julio is certainly cause for concern. You can't just look at Bama's record this year, but you have to look a little closer at how Julio regressed and why they needed a late comeback to beat lowly Auburn. In digging a little deeper than just whether the games were won, I would say these are trends that are a big concern for Bama.

We don't play enough freshman.

Show me team that plays freshmen( as starters ) and I will show you a team that does not develop its talent.

Lafell, Ciron, Herman Johnson and Tyson Jackson all belong in the "failed to live up to promise/potential shown as sophmores" category.
Lafell had to lead the SEC in drops this year, no?
Ciron was 1st team all-Barcelona matador this year.
Tyson Jackson was a sophmore stud, disappointing junior (and single-handedly negated a key, late 4th quarter stop against KY) and as a senior he did his best Charles Grant impersonation (way too overweight and way too slow for a 4-3 DE).

To be fair, Julio was hurt early and never recovered to his freshman ability. I wouldn't bet against him having a great Junior season.

Which website you using? Cause Dorsey was a 5* according to Scout.

Also if you are doing this you have
Ryan Miller 4*
RJ Jackson 4*
Alfred Jones 4*
Kyle Anderson 4*
Ryan Perriloux 4*
Antonio Robinson 4*
and that is just 2005 according to Scout
